Only Green Design and Upcycle Santa Fe are bringing in Harvey Lacy, the inventor and steel fabrication guru to conduct a multi day workshop building an Ubuntublox press from upcycled shipping pallets and then creating 35 Ubuntublox for the repair of a fallen down straw bale wall. The first few days will be used to explain how to deconstruct pallets and then use the lumber to construct the press. The 2nd few days will be used to rebuild the wall! Who We Are

MISSION:  Only Green Design is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to heal, educate and empower at risk youth to become healthy, productive and self-sufficient adults in the community. We do this through workshops, one on one mentorship, and outreach projects and events created by at risk youth.

Only Green Design (OGD) is a 501-c3 social profit that envisages a sustainable, healthy, and environmentally responsible world. OGD provides an example of how architecture, community development, and social interaction can change the world for the better.

Using available and up-cycled materials, authentic and creative examples of ecological design are produced, informed by a sense of place and responsibility. Throughout this journey, an inquiry is initiated into how human development can not only be benign to the rest of nature, but beneficial to it! Basically, how can design drive rehabilitation?

Our practice is based on a shared humanity, collaboration and youth involvement. We believe the youth deserve our full attention, best work and effort to inspire and develop holistic ways of seeing and co-existing which will leave this place better than it was found.
